Health and Life Sciences Event – 7th July
Come along to our Virtual Health and Life Sciences Open Event to find out about our new education and technical skills programme, backed by the region’s top healthcare employers.
Young people, and parents and carers, are invited to find out more by attending our virtual open event on Tuesday, July 7th at 5pm. The event will be hosted on Zoom.
Guests will hear from the NHS employers involved, learn about the variety of jobs that healthcare providers offer in the region and get details about the new specialism and qualifications.
The Derbyshire Health and Life Sciences Academy at the UTC will equip students with the skills they need to go into careers in health, life sciences, wellbeing and social care.
Backed by the University of Derby, the initiative is launching in partnership with Joined Up Care Derbyshire, which comprises health and social care employers in the region.
The employers include Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
At UTC Derby Pride Park, you can study highly regarded technical qualifications alongside A Levels in a combination that is right for you. Our curriculum is employer-led with employer-based projects, employer visits and industry competitions . Our employer supporters include Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Bombardier, NHS Foundation Trusts and the University of Derby.
This will be an online event using Zoom so you can attend from home. You will hear from:

UTC Derby Pride Park has recently joined a highly successful Multi-Academy Trust, The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust, one of the foremost UTC Trusts in the country. Since then a great deal of development work has been carried out to deliver a first-class technical education in Derby with excellent pathways on to higher education or apprenticeships.
