Since then a great deal of development work has been carried out to deliver a first-class technical education in Derby with excellent pathways on to higher education or apprenticeships.
The UTCs in Sheffield and Derby have impressive track records of students progressing on to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) degrees at prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, in addition to higher and degree apprenticeships at some of the country’s cutting edge companies, including Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Bombardier, Royal Navy, McLaren, BMW and British Aerospace.
From September 2020 UTC Derby Pride Park will be offering courses for Years 9, 10 and 12 students only, in Engineering and Health & Life Sciences. This will be effectively the opening of a brand new school with tremendous opportunities and it will only be available to a limited number of students.
