UTC Derby Pride Park welcome our Year 9 students -Induction Day

It was fantastic to welcome our Year 9 students to UTC Derby Pride Park for their Induction day. During the day students met with their tutors, had a welcome presentation from our Associate Principal – Mr Lee Kirkwood and Executive Principal – Mr Nick Crew before spending the rest of the day in their Specialist Areas.
Our Engineering students completed a carousel of events:
- An introduction to the Workshops
- Practical drawing activity
- A Team task set by Loughborough University – Success in a Box activity that involved students looking at the production process of a MIRA shower and deciding the order of production and assembly alongside different careers within the company
Our Health & Social Care students started to explore the importance of effective communication in health care provisions, using a mix of communication games, discussions, and written work.
We look forward to supporting our students in the future on their journey with us.
