UTC Systems Control in Engineering – Network Rail Careers Visit

We were extremely happy to welcome Craig Melvin – Resourcing Business Partner at Network Rail to the UTC to talk to our Key Stage 4 Systems Control Students about various career opportunities at Network Rail. This is the beginning of further sessions that Network Rail and the UTC hope to develop in the future.

The session was a fantastic opportunity for our students to think about not only their future careers but to also learn more about the many different opportunities that are available to them with a company such as Network Rail. The students learnt about the main areas in which they could develop their careers in the future:

  • Office Based
  • Stations
  • Signalling
  • Environment

Craig spoke to the students about the different levels of apprenticeships available within Network rail and the ways in which students can start to prepare themselves for applications in the future
