UTC Derby Pride Park Open Morning
It was fantastic to be able to open our doors to prospective students and parents for our Open Morning.
The event was attended by over 200 visitors, and we were also able to welcome many of our employer partners to support the event.
Throughout the morning, students and parents were able to visit the different departments and speak to our staff and current students to learn more about the opportunities that are available to them.
During the morning parents were able to attend a session delivered by our Associate Principal, Mr Lee Kirkwood to learn more about how the UTC can support students across Derby and the varying opportunities that would be available to them should they wish to join us in the future. It was so nice to see so many parents coming along to find out more and engage with our staff, students and governors.
Throughout the morning the atmosphere around the UTC was one of excitement and enjoyment – the aims of such an event, allowing prospective students and parents to speak to staff, students, governors, employers and alumni in a relaxed and informative manner.
Many thanks must also go to the support of our employers and Alumni at this event as employer engagement is a key aspect of the UTC curriculum and supporting events such as our Open Mornings is key to our further future development. Thank you to NHS Foundation Trust, Health Education Derbyshire, Toyota, Alstom, Rolls-Royce, Hope, William and Abdul for their time and support.
