Global Cultural Learning Programme
The UTC Global Cultural Learning Programme encompasses a range of aspects for all of our students.
Across the UTC promoting British Values is integral in many different areas both academically and beyond.
The Five core values are:
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual Respect
- Tolerance of Individuals with different faiths and beliefs
UTC Derby Pride Park Global Learning Programmes
Key Stage 3
Year 9
1 hour per week – Relationships, Sex and Education (RSE) delivered within Personal Learning
1 hour per week – Global Cultural Learning
Key Stage 4
Year 10
1 hour per week – Relationships, Sex and Education (RSE) delivered within Personal Learning
Year 11
1 hour per week – Relationships, Sex and Education (RSE) delivered within Personal Learning
All students attend tutor sessions for 30mins each day where a carousel of activities are followed weekly
Key Stage 5
30mins per week – These sessions are linked to both RSE and Careers Development
All students attend 2 tutor sessions per week where a carousel of activities is delivered linked to the RSE programme and Students Careers Development
UTC Derby Pride Park has reviewed its provision of RSE and Health Education following the government’s statutory guidance (which can be found below) and incorporates recommendations given by The PSHE association, which we review on a termly basis, to ensure we reflect the needs of our pupils at UTC Derby Pride Park.
The programme is developed alongside the three core values:
- Core Theme 1 – Health and Well-Being
- Core Theme 2 – Relationships
- Core Theme 3 – Living in the Wider World
Our Careers Provision is also incorporated within aspects of both the Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 Programmes. More information regarding Careers can be found on our website – Students & Parents / Information / Careers Information
